On 4 July 2024, at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Lublin, in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Botany, the following diploma theses prepared in collaboration with Colfarm S.A. were defended:
- “Development of a selected medicine form based on an ingredient of natural origin” by Maria Walus
The thesis aims to develop a medicine formulation for hard capsules, based on a mixture of plant extracts, which shows the strongest free radical scavenging properties in the DPPH reagent test using statistical modelling.
- “Synergism of selected combinations of plant extracts” by Maria Malmon
The thesis aims to demonstrate interactions among selected combinations of plant extracts based on their antioxidant properties by using two methods to assess antioxidant activity: the DPPH reduction method and the CUPRAC method.
We had the immense pleasure to be part of that honourable event, during which the examination committee headed by Professor Anna Malm, Pharm.D., Department Dean, conducted the thesis defence procedure.
The theses prepared under the scientific supervision of Tomasz Baj, Pharm.D., have produced a number of interesting findings. We will analyse them for further optimisation of manufacturing processes.
We are thus glad to be able to make good use of the synergy between business and science and hope that this excellent cooperation between the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Lubin and Colfarm S.A. will continue to thrive.
